Going to La Salette Shrine to see the holiday light display is one of my favorite Christmas traditions! Even if you aren't religious, it is a really nice way to get into the Christmas spirit without forgetting the true meaning of the holiday. It is a free activity but donations are gladly appreciated! The hundreds of thousands of colorful lights strung overhead and surrounding you in every tree to light your path are bound to make you swoon! Walking mitten in mitten around the brightly lit pond is definitely romantic as well!
The illuminations started November 26th and are up until the 3rd of January everyday from 5pm -9pm. The weekends are understandably busy but the week nights are the time to go! They sell snacks and drinks like kettle corn, hot apple cider and hot cocoa to keep you toasty! They also have Christmas concerts performing on certain nights which are sure to add to the romance of the evening! The next few that are lined up are at 7pm on December 19,21,26 and January 2nd in either the Welcome Center or the Shrine Church. Go enjoy the spirit of Christmas together!
